mIRC is certainly the most-used IRC client both last decade, the one before and even today. It is a shareware chat program which offers users some very flexible scripting features and a ton of customization options.
For those that aren't aware of what IRC is, it can basically be described as a somewhat primitive form of text-based Internet chat which dates back to the early 90s.
When installing mIRC, the wizard will guide you through a number of options including backups, automatic software updates and more.
mIRC 7.55 is a shareware program and can be used as a demo to try the software until the free trial period has ended. A full version of the program is available after the trial period ends.
