TxtEdit is a text editor developed by Swiss programmer Luzius Schneider. Optimized for rich text files, TxtEdit includes several useful and handy features such as spell check, a file sending %u201CSend To%u201D feature and support for several popular and commonly used text formats such as txt, rtf, Word and Word Perfect. It is also a useful tool for developers who edit PHP, Perl and HTML files. You can also insert custom tags from an editable tag list.

When editing Rich Text Files, you can apply many different formats to the text including the ability to insert images within your file. Overall, TxtEdit is a great replacement for Windows' built in notepad.exe and improves on manly functionalities of Windows Wordpad.
