TextAloud is probably one of the most popular shareware text-to-speech programs today. Since it's been around for quite some time, the development team working on this project have had a lot of time to make improvements to the software and it has improved a lot over time.
This TTS program uses voice synthesis converting text into audio with human-sounding voices. Exporting the produced audio is also possible by selecting either MP3 or WMA.
TextAloud 3.030 is a shareware program and can be used as a demo to try the software until the free trial period has ended. A full version of the program is available after the trial period ends.
