TerraExplorer Viewer brings some cool 3D technology which may best be described as an alternative to Google Earth.
Just like Google Earth, TerraExplorer provides access to technology which is intended to provide a view of what certain locations look like. It can preview landmarks, streets, buildings simply by zooming in and around the planet. You can also search for certain locations, find routes, measure distances, etc
The TerraExplorer project has come a long way but may lack in terms of coolness when comparing it to Google Earth or even Bing Maps 3D.
Version 7.0.1 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
