RetroArch runs programs converted into dynamic libraries called libretro cores, using several user interfaces such as command-line interface, a few graphical user interfaces (GUI) optimized for gamepads, several input, audio and video drivers.
It enables you to run classic games on a wide range of computers and consoles through its slick graphical interface. Settings are also unified, so configuration is done once and for all. The program also currently includes some advanced features, like shaders, netplay, rewinding, and more.
Version 1.17.0 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
