QuickPar

QuickPar is a utility (in fact, THE utility) to create, verify and view PAR or parity files found commonly on filesharing services and usenet newsgroups. It is a very common tool to recover files which have become corrupted or damaged as a result of usenet errors and retention problems.

While using QuickPar, you may select the AutoRepair check box to automatically repair damaged files from within the archive set.

When QuickPar has complete its task of repair PAR and PAR2 files, it will automatically delete the damaged files which contain incomplete data. You can access this setting under the options dialog. QuickPar will also recognize incomplete versions of yDec files which end in '.tmp'.

QuickPar download is a utility for creating Parity Volumes using the Reed Solomon algorithm. For details of the algorithm used, see the parchive website at SourceForge.

Parity Volumes maybe used to verify that a set of files have not been corrupted, or to reconstruct damaged files (providing that you have a sufficient quantity of Parity Volumes to match the missing or damaged files).

QuickPar 0.9.1 is licensed as Freeware for the Windows operating system / platform without restrictions. QuickPar is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
