Video games from the 80's normally used something called pixel art in order to render its graphics, these days, it's become very popular among video games and anime fans and thus Pixel Art was created.
This program is a very basic image editor which works just with pixels. Its user interface couldn't be easier, save for clearer icons. Either way, you can create a canvas to work on in sizes of either 400 or 900 pixels.
Version 11.3.4 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
