PeerBlock, which derives from Peer Guardian, is an effective tool at blocking hackers or copyright societies from accessing your PC or communicating with you through peer-to-peer networks. Essentially, it blocks either specific IP addresses or blocks of IP addresses.
Many of the known attackers are listed on filesharing forums.
Version 1.2.r693 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
