The evolution of the popularity of e-Books has really grown over the past few years and many different distributors have created their own formats and versions of reading material. Amazon is no exception with its ever-so-popular Kindle program.
You would normally imagine reading an e-Book from a small iPad-like device such as the Kindle itself, but Amazon also offers Kindle for PC which allows you to read your e-Books on a real computer screen such as a desktop, laptop or Windows-based tablet PC.
The Kindle for PC application itself is rather plain and does not really contain many extra features except for being able to read and manage your collection of purchased or free books.
Version 2.3.70682 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
