HotShots is a screen capture utility which offers several additional tools for editing your screenshots and adding annotations.
The program is currently being developed as an open source project and provides the option of capturing certain areas of your screen such as the entire screen, active window, rectangular areas or by freehand.
HotShots can capture screens by use of a hotkey which is customizable. It can been saved to either your hard drive or to your clipboard, making it paste-able into image editing software like PhotoShop.
Version 2.2.0 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
