Comodo Firewall is one of the best free firewall of our days that is capable to efficiently protect the operating system against hackers and malicious programs.
The application completely controls all applications that run on the computer and the network activity, blocks malware before they can access the computer by using Prevention-based security and displays personalized alerts (remembers which software is trusted and allowed and displays alerts in case of unknown connection attempts).
The Firewall creates and uses application rules to control all connection attempts, blocks unauthorized or malicious attempts of applications to send or receive information from the Internet, manages the list of trusted applications and enables Port Stealthing (to hide the computer from port scans).
