CamServer is a neat little surveillance program which lets users capture and record cameras from a local or even a remote location over the Internet. The configuration of this software is quite simple. It supports USB and PCI web cameras.
This program will capture video from a webcam and then make it available for playback as an AVI file. If the remote program stops responding (ie. interrupted Internet connection or a program crash), CamServer will let you know of the issue.
The software is developed by Dave Amenta.
