Like other online cloud hosting services DropBox and Google Drive, 4shared also offers a Windows-based client which you can use to upload files directly from your desktop to 4shared's online servers.

Although you can also used 4shared's online service to upload your files, this client may save time and provide for better upload options like pausing and resuming downloads.

The free service offered by 4shared offers no-strings-attached 10GB of free storage; you can use it to backup videos, photos and music. The premium account offers significantly more.

Version 4.0.13 is a freeware program which does not have restrictions and it's free so it doesn't cost anything.
