Rogers stores in the Toronto area have started to receive dummy BlackBerry units in a chic white colour, signaling the arrival of the new coloured phones.

Just in time for the holidays, the white BlackBerry models will come with a 5-megapixel camera with a HVGA display screen and its networking capabilities include 3G, Wireless LAN and a GPS receiver. It will also have a 642 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and a revised version of the BlackBerry Operating System.

Bell will also be offering the white BlackBerry 9780 in their stores but it looks like for now, the Torch in white will be a Rogers exclusive, like most white BlackBerry models have been in the past.

With the 9780 in white, we're probably looking at a roll-out in Bell and Rogers stores over the next few weeks in time for Christmas shopping. Virgin Mobile is also rumoured to get some white BlackBerry phones. Since the black version of the BlackBerry 9780 is retailing at Telus for $499.99, it's fair to say the same price would apply for the white model over at Rogers. With 3-year contract, it will be available for $149.99.
