Publishing an article about a topic you're passionate about

Canadian Content has always been about Canadians publishing 'content' online, that is, anything that may be of interest to Canadians. To date, the forums have been the most creative place to publish opinions and debate topics Canadians (around the world) can relate to. Canada's media is currently split among several large corporations and that number is shrinking with newspapers, television networks, local stations, web sites and even blogs being snatched up by the big guys.

Luckily, the web is democratic and anybody can publish their opinions, consumer reports, honest product reviews and data online but people finding that information depends on exposure. It may take years for a blog to even gain any notoriety and luckily, CC has existed in various forms since 1997. It started off as a place where a group of us posted commentaries on various events taking place in the day and that's how the site grew into a pretty large community.

I'm certain Canadian Content has the potential to grow because so many of you members have made such huge contributions to the site and some people just can't get enough of the debates and discussions CC hosts. With that, I'd like to introduce you all to our publishing platform which takes some ideas from the forums (and integrates those discussions) and puts them into a format similar to newspapers. Think of it as a community-powered newspaper.

Some ideas

Canadian News - Have some information or opinion about current events? I'd love to post it.
Political Commentary - The NDP is official opposition. How do you feel about their policies? Likewise with the Conservatives.
Gadget Reviews - Got your hands on the latest gadget? Your opinion counts!
Consumer Alerts - A really bad or a really good experience with a company? I'm sure Canadians want to hear.

Of course, I'm completely open to opinions and this site is ready to evolve even more.
