Sidney Crosby just arrived on deck of the HMCS Preserver. Today is the youngest NHL Captain's 22nd birthday. What a birthday parade he arranged for himself.

The Pittsburg Penguins won the Stanley Cup during the 2008/09 NHL Season and Sidney Crosby is bringing the Stanley Cup to his home town of Cole Harbour.

He will have breakfast with dignitaries and talk to some military families. Defence Minister Peter MacKay is in attendance.

Thousands of people lined the Harbour to catch a glimpse of the Cup and the Penguins star, who took time to sign autographs throughout the morning.

The crowd roared as Crosby hoisted the Cup over his head, just as he did on the ice in Detroit on June 12, when the Penguins defeated the Red Wings to captured the best-of-seven series 4-3.

"It's pretty fun, it never gets old that's for sure," Crosby said of hoisting the Cup. "Wherever the Cup goes, it draws attention everywhere and it's amazing to see how important it is for people to be able to be up close to it. That's why I'm happy to be doing it."
