The Samsung Galaxy Tab -Androidcentral
Things are likely to change, however, says IMS Research as Google Android-powered devices are poised to jump to 15% of all tablet devices in 2011 and perhaps 28% of the market by 2015.
"The availability of Samsung's Galaxy Tab tablet via mobile carriers such as AT&T in the US will quickly boost Google Android's presence in the tablet market," said IMS Research analyst Anna Hunt.
The newest addition to the Canadian tablet line-up will come pre-installed with Google Android 2.2 Froyo with Google looking to lauch its 2.3 Gingerbread version at the end of November.
The device includes a 1GHz Hummingbird processor with 16GB of internal memory with the possibility of extending that by 32GB with an external microSD memory card slot. One of the most lovely things about it is the dual 1.3-megapixel cameras opening up the possibility of video calling, something the Nokia n95 failed to make very popular on its début a couple of years back.
Update: The Galaxy Tab is now available at Bell Canada for an introductory price of $649.95 without a contract and will be available on a plan of $20/month for 500MB of data transfer or $35 for 5GB.
