Portals are on the move again

As a search engine gure, I always look around at my favourite search engines. Lycos has always been on that list, but I don't use it as much because the design was never that great. That's one of the things I look for in a nice site, relevance of information and good design. Lycos has introduced it's new design on it's American web site today. Hopefully soon to come on the Canadian one too operated by Sympatico.

The new design they introduced looks extremely slick in style, and one of the coolest looking portals I've seen yet. 2 thumbs up for Lycos, they will probably rise in popularity because of it with the very well publicized 'search engine wars'. So many of the publicly traded search engines have been dying with the past 5 years, you never know which one will go next.

You can visit their new site at www.lycos.com, very well recommended, their whole USA network has been redesigned and probably for the best. Good luck in your start page hunting. Keep Canadian Content in mind if you really find this site useful.

With the next few weeks, you can expect to see a redesign of many portals on the Internet, not including Canadian Content. Would not be surprised if many follow the 'cool' look of Lycos.
