Napster to shut doors

As you have most likely heard, the Napster music community is under fire by the major record industries. As a court ruled, if a record company contacts Napster, requesting to block their copyrighted material, Napster must comply and block all mp3's of the artist(s).

Will this make a difference in the mp3 industry? I doubt it. There are other software companies that make similar software available, ie. AudioGnome.

The record industry will not stop at Napster, they will keep going until every peice of software is made unavailable to the general public. Until then, what software should you use? Check out AudioGnome, click here. If all else fails, you can always get mp3's on IRC, if you don't know what IRC is, look at the mIRC website, by clicking here.

Is there anything you can do about the Napster problem? No. Unfortunately, you can't do much, as a Canadian. But for our American friends, you can call your local senate and tell them what you think.

Now a look from the record industry point of view, Napster has made millions of dollars by using their copyrighted material without permission. How would you like it if an advertising agency used your face, without your permission, and made millions of dollars. Would you not want to take action on that company? You probably wouldn't, that's the whole reason why the record industry is taking these steps to prevent people from making money off of them.
