New-comer to the Canadian wireless scene, Mobilicity has struck a deal with 7-Eleven convenient stores to sell their phones at select locations in Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton.

The move comes just in time for the upcoming holiday season when consumers are most likely to purchase new phones as gifts for friends and family.

Wind Mobile has also made a similar move, partnering with movie rental chain Blockbuster and Public Mobile phones are now available at Gateway Newstands at malls and subway stations.

“Like 7-Eleven, Mobilicity caters to customers looking for value and convenience,” said Doug Perry, Mobilicity's vice president of sales, said in a release. The deal however is not exclusive so a competitor may also work out a deal with the corner store chain.

"We are excited to be the first national convenience store chain to offer Mobilicity," said Roger Barratt, product manager for 7-Eleven Canada. "Mobilicity's unlimited offerings support our overall goal of providing our customers with convenience and quality, and it enhances our position as the contract-free wireless destination in the convenience store industry."

The phones which will be available at 7-Eleven will be full price handsets without contracts with plans starting at $25 per month.
