If you want secure protection of files and folders on your PC running Windows, Folder Lock does a wonderful job of keeping your secret files and folders secure. Not only can you protect files by locking them, but an added layer of security enabled you to encrypt them using a 256-bit encryption! In the free version of this program, you can protect up to ¼ of available drive space with encryption with the full version being limited to how much disk space you have.
The interface is simple and eye-pleasing, making Folder Lock a pleasure to use. When using the program, you have the option to run this application in a secret stealth mode which hides the process on your system from snooping eyes.
Beware, once you start hiding and locking folders on your personal computer, it becomes a little bit addictive making you want to continue hiding, encrypting and locking files just for the heck of it. The full version comes with a couple of extra skins which please the eye.
If you do end up having an intruder (like a jelous boyfriend or girlfriend or kids) on your system, Folder Lock will actually completely lock them out, forcing the computer to shut off after so-many failed attempts to access your precious hidden files and folders.
The program supports protection on regular hard drives, memory sticks, burnt CDs/DVDs and floppies.
