Sony Ericsson Company Overview: Sony Ericsson is a joint venture established in 2001 by the Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson to make mobile phones. Both companies have ceased making their own mobile phones. The reason for this merger is to combine Sony's global consumer marketing expertise with Ericsson's technological leadership in the communications sector.
Audio Playback: The Sony Ericsson J300i includes an MP3 player. This phone comes with built in polyphonic ringtones, which means you can download simple MIDI files from the Internet and upload them through your phone, or simply download them via GRPS (if GRPS is built in). We do not recommend purchasing polyphonic ringtones from pay-per-use services such as television commercials, because the J300i is capable of receiving them as MIDI files which are common on the Internet.

Without this feature, text messages take much longer to type.
