Siemens CT56 Overview: The Siemens CT56 is a 2003 model mobile phone which is compatible with Rogers Wireless and Microcell Fido. It operates on the frequencies of GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, For this phone to be able to operate on Rogers Wireless or Microcell Fido, if not purchased at the respective retailers, one must make sure this phone does not have a sim-lock and ensure it is unlocked. Additionally, if you are looking to use this cell phone on T-Mobile, AT&T or other USA GSM carriers, there may also be no carrier-specific sim-lock.

Siemens Company Overview: Siemens cellular telephones were very early mobile phones, produced by Siemens AG. The company created the first phone with a colour screen, (the S10, with 4 different colours - red, green, blue and white - that could be displayed), the first "outdoor" phone (the S10 Active, with enhanced shock, dust and splash protection), the first slider phone (the SL10), the first phone with real GPS support (the SXG75) and probably the first phone with an MP3 player and external memory card support (MultiMediaCard) (Siemens SL45). In 2005 the Taiwanese company BenQ acquired the financially bleeding mobile phone subsidiary from Siemens and gained the exclusive right to use Siemens trademark for 5 years.

Audio Playback: The Siemens CT56 does not come with an MP3 player. This phone comes with built in polyphonic ringtones, which means you can download simple MIDI files from the Internet and upload them through your phone, or simply download them via GRPS (if GRPS is built in). We do not recommend purchasing polyphonic ringtones from pay-per-use services such as television commercials, because the CT56 is capable of receiving them as MIDI files which are common on the Internet.

Video and Picture Taking: The Siemens CT56 is not equipped with a camera or a video recording function.

Messaging and Internet: The Siemens CT56 is capable of surfing the Internet with the built in browser of the phone. With this phone, you may also send MMS, or Multimedia Message Service. The phone is also able to use EMS, or Enhanced Message Service. Unfortunately, the Siemens CT56 lacks the modern ability of t9 intelligent text messaging. Without this feature, text messages take much longer to type.

The Siemens CT56 comes fully equipped with a WAP browser, and additionally an HTML browser for normal web page surfing.. including support for java.

Connectivity and Interactivity: With the CT56, you can use Bluetooth, Infrared, or a USB cable to connect to and interact with other devices.
