Amoi 660 Overview: The Amoi 660 is a 2005 model mobile phone which is compatible with Rogers Wireless and Microcell Fido. It operates on the frequencies of GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, For this phone to be able to operate on Rogers Wireless or Microcell Fido, if not purchased at the respective retailers, one must make sure this phone does not have a sim-lock and ensure it is unlocked. Additionally, if you are looking to use this cell phone on T-Mobile, AT&T or other USA GSM carriers, there may also be no carrier-specific sim-lock.

Amoi Company Overview: Amoi is a Chinese electronics manufacturing company incorporated in 1997. Its products include mobile phones, LCD televisions, DVD players, laptops, MP3 players, etc. - all of which are sold domestically and globally.

Audio Playback: The Amoi 660 includes an MP3 player. This phone comes with built in polyphonic ringtones, which means you can download simple MIDI files from the Internet and upload them through your phone, or simply download them via GRPS (if GRPS is built in). We do not recommend purchasing polyphonic ringtones from pay-per-use services such as television commercials, because the 660 is capable of receiving them as MIDI files which are common on the Internet.

Video and Picture Taking: The Amoi 660 does have a camera.

Messaging and Internet: The Amoi 660 is capable of surfing the Internet via GPRS and with the built in browser of the phone. Unfortunately, there is no MMS capability. Unfortunately, the Amoi 660 lacks the modern ability of t9 intelligent text messaging. Without this feature, text messages take much longer to type.

Connectivity and Interactivity: With the 660, you can't really do much when connecting to other devices, since it's USB capabilities are limited to nill. There is also a memory card slot for the TFlash.

How do you rate the 660?

This mobile phone should work on the Canadian networks of Rogers Wireless and Microcell Fido given there is no sim-lock currently activated.

Additionally, this mobile phone should also function on the US-American mobile networks of Cingular and T-Mobile and International GSM networks.
